Ukraine’s Defense Ministry to Rectify Military Registration Errors for Women by April’s End

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced plans to correct the military registration of women who were mistakenly enrolled. The ministry aims to resolve these inaccuracies by the end of April.

According to the ministry’s statement, women who do not qualify for military registration but were erroneously added to the “Oberih” registry will be removed by the deadline. Officials emphasized that the issue is limited in scope and not widespread.

If a woman receives a notification about a fine through the “Rezerv+” app due to this error, the ministry clarified that it does not constitute administrative liability and carries no legal consequences.

To address such notifications, the Ministry of Defense recommends contacting:

  • the government hotline at 1545,
  • the Ministry of Defense hotline at 1512,
  • or submitting an inquiry through the “1545” app.

The ministry assured that all erroneous entries are being corrected, and all cases will be resolved by the end of April.

The issue gained attention when a Ukrainian citizen reported being mistakenly registered for military service without the necessary qualifications. This prompted an internal investigation, which revealed that incorrect data had been entered into the “Oberih” system as early as 2021. Further checks uncovered several similar cases related to the creation of specific records in the system.

Despite these findings, officials from the Ground Forces stated that correcting this information through the relevant Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support is currently not feasible due to technical limitations. However, they reassured the public that there are no plans to mobilize women or develop any mechanisms for such actions.

On April 10, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov addressed the controversy, clarifying that the situation stemmed from a technical error at the Kharkiv Territorial Center. He confirmed that measures are being implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is set to rectify military registration errors affecting women by the end of April, following reports of mistaken enrollments. The ministry reassured that these issues are limited and provided guidance for those receiving erroneous notifications.
