Russian Strikes Target Residential Areas in Odesa, Leaving Casualties and Damage

In the early hours of April 6, Russian forces launched a significant attack on residential neighborhoods in Odesa, specifically targeting apartment buildings. As of the morning, three fatalities have been confirmed, including the tragic loss of a child.

The number of injured has risen to ten, with two individuals in critical condition. One patient is undergoing neurosurgery, while another is in a burn unit. Medical personnel in Odesa are operating under heightened conditions to address the situation.

Among the injured are a two-year-old child and two teenagers aged 17 and 18. Fortunately, their lives are not in immediate danger, and they are receiving care in a stable condition.

The assault has resulted in extensive damage across two key districts of the city. In the Primorsky district, a residential complex and seven private homes were affected. Local authorities have commenced cleanup efforts and are urgently securing damaged properties.

In the Kyiv district, one apartment building and five private residences sustained damage. Additionally, a private kindergarten, a store, and a parking lot were hit, resulting in damage to 27 vehicles.

Emergency response teams have been deployed to the sites of the attacks. Municipal services and rescue workers are collaborating to mitigate the aftermath. Authorities have begun accepting claims from property owners affected by the strikes. Residents can expect financial assistance from the city budget and compensation under the government program “eRecovery.”

Furthermore, psychological and legal support is being offered to all affected individuals by specialists from local administrations.

It is noteworthy that Odesa has been regularly targeted by Russian forces using Shahed-type drones, primarily approaching from the Black Sea. During such attacks, residents often hear explosions and the activation of air defense systems.

For instance, on April 2, explosions were reported in Odesa amid a missile attack, with residents hearing multiple blasts within a short timeframe. Earlier, on March 31, drones struck a nine-story residential building, resulting in injuries to one man.

A recent attack by Russian forces on Odesa has resulted in three deaths, including a child, and ten injuries. The strikes have caused significant damage to residential areas and prompted emergency response efforts.
