The assault occurred around 4:10 PM local time, with reports indicating that drones were employed in the attack. Residents reported hearing explosions and the activation of air defense systems, followed by visible smoke in one of the city’s districts.
Local officials later confirmed that critical infrastructure was struck and provided additional details on the incident.
“Some areas of the city may experience power outages. Windows in nearby buildings were damaged due to the shockwave from the attack. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties,” the statement read.
