In a recent incident in the Sumy region of Ukraine, Russian forces launched an attack on medical personnel, utilizing a drone to strike an ambulance. This occurred despite a declared ceasefire for the Easter period.
According to local authorities, the attack took place overnight in the Hlukhiv community, resulting in injuries to three medical staff members. They received prompt medical assistance, and their lives are not in danger.
“The enemy cynically continues to target civilian infrastructure. Please exercise maximum caution,” stated the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration on Telegram.
Further reports indicate that prior to this incident, Russian forces had conducted two attacks on residential buildings in Sumy, injuring multiple individuals and damaging numerous homes, including a kindergarten.
Throughout the first ten days of this month, the Sumy region has experienced a series of drone and missile strikes, with residential and commercial properties being hit. Notably, a shopping center in the city center was also targeted, resulting in injuries to three individuals. Administrative buildings have not been spared; on March 18, a Russian drone struck a military enlistment office.
The recent drone attack on medical personnel in the Sumy region highlights ongoing hostilities despite a declared ceasefire. The incident underscores the continued targeting of civilian infrastructure by Russian forces, raising concerns about safety in the area.
