Recent reports from the DeepState monitoring project indicate that Russian troops have made gains in the Donetsk region, specifically near the village of Udačne in the Pokrovsk district. Analysts noted that the occupying forces have improved their positions in this area.
On Sunday, March 8, DeepState confirmed a shift in the frontline near Udačne, stating, “The enemy has advanced near Udačne.” The project has also updated its combat map to reflect the movement of Russian units in the vicinity.
The situation in the Pokrovsk direction has been described as active, with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reporting on the evening of March 8 that Russian troops are attempting to push forward in this sector. The report mentioned specific locations where these advances are occurring, including Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Vdale, Molodetske, as well as towards Shevchenko and Serhiyivka.
According to the General Staff, there were 18 recorded attacks by Russian forces in the Pokrovsk area over the course of a single day. At the time of the report’s release, one of the combat engagements was still ongoing.
Ukrainian military sources have reported significant losses for the Russian army in this sector. The General Staff indicated that Ukrainian defenders have destroyed one artillery system, 12 units of specialized equipment, and two vehicles. Additionally, they reported damage to a tank, seven artillery systems, two vehicles, two specialized units, and 11 enemy shelters. Ukrainian forces also claimed to have destroyed or suppressed 158 drones of various types.
Recent developments in the Donetsk region reveal that Russian forces have made advances near Udačne, with significant military activity reported. Ukrainian forces have countered these efforts, inflicting considerable losses on the enemy.
