Russian Drone Strikes Target Kyiv Amid Ongoing Attacks Across Ukraine

On the evening of March 2, Russian forces launched drone strikes against Kyiv, prompting the city’s air defense systems to engage. Residents reported hearing explosions as the situation unfolded.

The mayor of Kyiv urged citizens to seek shelter, emphasizing the need for caution as air defense units were activated in response to the threat. Reports indicated that an enemy drone was detected near the Kyiv Reservoir, moving toward the capital.

This attack on Kyiv followed a series of drone strikes across Ukraine earlier that night, particularly in Kryvyi Rih, where Russian forces targeted industrial facilities, resulting in multiple fires. Additionally, the Ukrainian Navy successfully intercepted one Shahed-type strike drone in the southern region.

In the afternoon, drone attacks were also reported in Odesa, where explosions were heard. According to local authorities, a private residence was damaged, leading to a fire in the area.

The Ukrainian Air Forces reported that over 90 strike drones were launched by Russian forces overnight, with approximately 19 confirmed impacts. Most of the incoming drones were intercepted by air defense systems, highlighting the ongoing efforts to protect Ukrainian airspace.

Recent drone strikes by Russian forces have intensified across Ukraine, with Kyiv and Odesa among the affected cities. Ukrainian air defense systems have engaged numerous threats, successfully intercepting many drones.
