On the night of February 13, a Ukrainian port in Odesa was struck by Russian drones, resulting in one fatality and six injuries, including three individuals in serious condition.
This information was confirmed by Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, via Telegram.
Kuleba stated that the Russian forces targeted a port in the Odesa region. The attack affected various infrastructures including port, residential, industrial, and energy facilities.
Damage included storage facilities for fertilizers, as well as fires that engulfed four passenger cars and freight wagons.
In Odesa city, drone debris hit a car dealership and a sanatorium. Two Shahed drones struck apartments in two residential buildings but fortunately did not ignite further fires.
Emergency services are currently working to address the aftermath of the attack.
Additionally, within the same day, Russian forces conducted drone strikes on the railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region, with no reports of injuries. Kuleba clarified that the damage did not affect train operations.
The Minister emphasized that Russia is systematically targeting Ukraine’s logistical infrastructure, essential for maintaining exports, business operations, regional supply, and the viability of frontline communities.
