In the early hours of February 28, Russian forces launched a drone attack on a railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine. The strike targeted an electric locomotive, resulting in injuries to the train driver.
Ukrainian Minister Oleksii Kuleba confirmed the incident, stating, “The enemy attacked one of the stations in Dnipropetrovsk with drones. The driver sustained injuries and received necessary medical assistance; his condition is stable.”
The attack caused a fire at the site of the impact, and emergency services are currently working to manage the aftermath.
Kuleba emphasized that this incident reflects a continued effort by Russia to disrupt civilian logistics. He noted, “The enemy systematically targets infrastructure that facilitates movement, evacuation, and supply across the country.”
Despite the attack, Kuleba reassured the public that train operations remain stable and are proceeding according to schedule, with the railway continuing to function amid ongoing threats.
