In a recent assault, Russian forces targeted Odesa, resulting in the deaths of two residents and injuries to two others. The attack has left significant destruction across both residential and commercial properties in the city.
The head of the Odesa Military Administration expressed condolences to the families of the victims, stating, “Another night under enemy attack has brought tragic consequences to Odesa. Two people lost their lives due to strikes in the residential sector, and two others are currently hospitalized, receiving necessary medical care.”
According to officials, the strikes caused shattered windows, damaged roofs, and destroyed facades of buildings. Several food establishments and a dormitory were also affected by the bombardment.
Emergency responders and municipal workers swiftly arrived at the explosion sites. Firefighters managed to contain the flames, while municipal crews worked to secure broken windows, repair roofs, and clear debris from the impacted areas.
In addition to Odesa, Russian forces launched multiple attacks on other Ukrainian cities. Sumy was hit twice, leading to damage in residential buildings, fires, and reports of 14 individuals seeking medical assistance.
On the night of April 10, Ukrainian air defenses intercepted a significant wave of attacks, with Russian forces deploying 128 strike drones from five different directions. Despite the scale of the assault, air defense units successfully shot down most of the drones, although 14 managed to hit six locations, with debris falling in seven others.
The recent Russian attack on Odesa resulted in fatalities and significant property damage, echoing similar assaults on other Ukrainian cities like Sumy. Emergency services responded promptly to mitigate the impact of the strikes.
