In the early hours of February 14, Russian forces targeted Ukraine with a ballistic missile and over a hundred drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The missile, identified as an Iskander-M, was launched from the Kursk region. The drone strikes originated from multiple locations, including Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as occupied territories such as Donetsk and Hvardiyiske, and Crimea.
Preliminary reports indicate that by 8:30 AM, Ukrainian air defenses had intercepted or neutralized 91 enemy drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas. Additionally, 18 drones were confirmed to have struck 11 different sites, with debris from downed drones landing in two areas.
Russian military forces have consistently targeted Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various weapons, including drones, missiles, and rocket systems. Ukrainian authorities and international organizations categorize these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their deliberate nature.
The strikes on essential services and healthcare facilities aim to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance, which constitutes genocidal actions.
Meanwhile, Russian leadership denies that its military is intentionally striking civilian infrastructure, despite the ongoing destruction of hospitals, schools, and energy facilities across Ukraine.
Russia's recent missile and drone attacks on Ukraine highlight the ongoing conflict and raise serious concerns about war crimes. Ukrainian air defenses have reported significant interceptions, yet the assaults continue to target essential civilian infrastructure.
