Odessa Under Attack: Multiple Buildings Damaged in Recent Assault

Odessa experienced a significant assault from March 18 to March 19, resulting in damage to residential and commercial structures. Reports indicate that the attack commenced around midnight, with residents sharing news of repeated explosions throughout the night.

The Ukrainian Air Force had alerted the public the previous evening about incoming drone groups targeting Odessa. Military sources confirmed that a squadron of enemy strike drones was approaching the coastline of the Odessa region.

By midnight, there were widespread alerts across Ukraine regarding the potential use of ballistic missiles. Subsequently, the head of the city administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported initial damage assessments.

“As a result of the massive enemy attack, we have damage to a residential high-rise in one area of the city, as well as a non-residential building in another area. All operational and emergency services are currently on-site. Information regarding casualties is being clarified,”

Lysak stated.

Recent attacks on Odessa and its surrounding areas have become a recurring issue. Missiles and drones launched by Russian forces have targeted civilian infrastructure, vehicles, and public services, leading to blackouts and disruptions in heating and water supply for local residents.

For instance, previous reports highlighted a drone strike on Odessa that affected an educational institution and other buildings. Just days prior, enemy forces had targeted infrastructure in the Odessa region.

The recent attacks on Odessa have led to significant damage to both residential and commercial properties, with ongoing assessments of casualties. This incident reflects the broader pattern of assaults on civilian infrastructure in the region, raising concerns about safety and service disruptions.
