In the early hours of April 6, 2026, Odesa experienced a significant assault from Russian forces, resulting in substantial damage to civilian infrastructure.

According to local officials, the strikes specifically targeted residential buildings, leading to severe destruction and injuries among the civilian population. “The enemy is once again launching a massive attack on the city. Reports indicate hits on residential areas, with damage recorded in the Kyiv and Primorsky districts,” stated Serhiy Lysak, head of the Military Administration.

Initial assessments confirmed that two key districts, Kyiv and Primorsky, suffered considerable damage. In one incident, a missile or drone struck a high-rise apartment building, causing critical structural damage from the third to the fifth floors.

Emergency responders from the State Emergency Service are currently engaged in a complex rescue operation, with a high likelihood that individuals may be trapped under the debris. Specialized equipment, search dogs, and all emergency services are on-site to assist in the operation.

Additionally, several private homes in the same area were reported to have been hit.

As of 4:30 AM, five individuals have been reported injured and have been promptly transported to medical facilities with varying degrees of injuries. The total number of casualties is still being verified as debris removal efforts continue.

Operational headquarters have been established at the impact sites. Residents of the damaged buildings are being offered initial psychological support, hot beverages, and consultations regarding temporary housing. Municipal services have begun addressing the aftermath to restore normalcy in the affected neighborhoods.

Earlier, the Air Force had reported multiple groups of attack drones heading towards Odesa. Monitoring channels indicated that over 30 drones were en route to the city, moving in several formations.

The air raid alert in Odesa lasted just over an hour, with an all-clear signal issued at 3:37 AM.
