A significant fire has broken out at the “Marine Oil Terminal” in occupied Feodosia, Crimea, following a successful strike by Ukrainian drones. Reports indicate that at least two storage tanks are ablaze, marking a notable escalation in Ukraine’s military operations in the region.
Satellite images from Planet Labs captured on April 8 show plumes of smoke and flames at this critical fuel facility. As of noon, the fire was still raging, with analysis suggesting that the tanks currently on fire had previously survived earlier attacks by Ukrainian forces.
Robert Brody, commander of the drone units, confirmed the success of the operation, stating, “The burning of weeds around the fuel tanks at the ‘Marine Oil Terminal’ during Holy Thursday was executed by the valiant Ukrainian Birds of the 9th Battalion ‘Kairos’ of the 414th ‘Birds of Madjar.'”
As of now, the Russian authorities have not issued any comments regarding this latest strike on the terminal.
In recent weeks, Ukraine’s defense forces have intensified their assaults on strategic targets held by Russian forces in Crimea. Today, it was reported that drones not only targeted the oil depot but also struck various military equipment, including the rare radar system “Zoo-1M” and ammunition depots.
Additionally, Ukrainian intelligence recently destroyed the last railway ferry, “Slavyanin,” which had been crucial for supplying the occupying forces through the Kerch Strait. This effectively severed a major logistical route for transporting equipment and fuel to Russian troops in Crimea.
Western media outlets have noted that Ukraine has, for the first time since the onset of the conflict, surpassed Russia in the deployment of kamikaze drones, allowing it to systematically dismantle the logistical infrastructure of the invaders.
