Recent reports indicate a partial escalation of Russian military operations in the Kharkiv region and along the border areas of Sumy. The situation remains particularly tense in the Lyman direction, which is considered strategically significant.
According to military spokesperson Trehubov, there have been ongoing attempts by Russian forces to breach Ukrainian defenses in the Lyman area. He noted that these efforts are characterized by frequent assaults aimed at penetrating directly towards Lyman itself.
Trehubov also highlighted increased activity along the border, specifically in both Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Russian troops have resumed attempts at infiltration, deploying small infantry groups into the rear lines or positions held by Ukrainian forces.
He pointed out two settlements, Hrabovske and Popivka, located north of Hrabovske, where Russian forces are making renewed efforts to advance. Additionally, there are continuous attacks reported along the Ukrainian border, particularly from the vicinity of Degiatarne.
Further developments have been observed in the Velykoburlutsk direction, where Russian military actions have intensified. Trehubov remarked that while there is notable activity in the Vovchansk area, it primarily involves maintaining the current level of operational intensity rather than a significant increase.
Conversely, the situation in the Kupiansk direction appears less favorable for Russian forces, according to Trehubov’s assessment.
Recent military assessments reveal a partial increase in Russian operations in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, with a focus on the strategically important Lyman area. Reports indicate ongoing attempts at infiltration and attacks along the border, while conditions in the Kupiansk direction are less advantageous for Russian troops.
