In Kakhovka, located in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, Russian forces have intensified their tactics by deploying landmines in residential areas, severely hindering civilian mobility.
According to local reports, streets in Kakhovka have become perilous for residents due to the extensive use of so-called “butterfly mines” dropped from drones. This situation has prompted concerns about access to essential services such as hospitals, pharmacies, and grocery stores.
Journalist Andriy Baturin noted that there has been a palpable sense of panic among both the occupying forces and local collaborators in recent days. He described how roads have been blocked and mines scattered across the Kakhovka district and surrounding areas near the former reservoir.
The actions of the occupying forces have forced civilians to seek alternative routes, which increases the likelihood of encountering artillery fire or triggering hidden mines.
