A military serviceman was fatally attacked in Lviv during mobilization activities, resulting in his death from a neck injury.
The incident occurred on Vygovskogo Street, reportedly during the mobilization process. According to the National Police, the victim succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
“This is true. The serviceman from the Territorial Recruitment Center has died. The police are searching for the perpetrator of the crime,” a representative from the National Police stated.
Local Telegram channels shared videos from the scene, where emergency services were deployed. In addition to the deceased, reports suggest that patrol officers were also injured, allegedly having their eyes sprayed with an irritant, although this information has not been independently verified.
The National Police are actively pursuing the individual responsible for the attack, but details regarding the suspect remain undisclosed.
As of 15:20, police confirmed the attack took place around 14:15 on Patona Street. The assailant struck the serviceman in the neck before fleeing the scene.
“Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the victim died in the hospital from his injuries,” law enforcement officials reported.
A police special operation is currently underway. Investigators have initiated a criminal case under Article 115, Part 2, Clause 8 (intentional murder). The perpetrator faces a potential sentence of 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
