On the evening of April 2, drone strikes attributed to Russian forces targeted Kharkiv, leading to multiple casualties and property damage. Initial reports indicated three individuals were injured, but further updates revealed that a 28-year-old woman and a one-month-old infant were among the victims.
The head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Syniehubov, confirmed that both the woman and the infant experienced acute stress reactions and are receiving medical assistance. The strikes also caused damage in the Osnovianskyi district, where a shop was reported to have been hit.
Additionally, a four-story building nearby caught fire as a result of the attack, with one person sustaining injuries. Emergency services and medical personnel are currently on-site to address the situation and provide aid.
In response to the strikes, Serhiy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, noted that a retaliatory response from Ukrainian forces is underway, with air raid alerts issued in the Russian regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, and others.
