Complete Overhaul of Bucha Recruitment Center Following Corruption Scandal

In response to a corruption scandal that emerged in August 2024, all personnel at the Bucha Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) have been reassigned to combat units. This decision follows serious allegations of misconduct within the center’s leadership.

During a recent session of the temporary investigative commission of the Ukrainian Parliament, Evtyushenko, a member of the commission, stated that he learned about the corruption issues primarily through media reports. He confirmed that following the identified violations, the entire leadership and staff of the TRC were moved to active combat roles.

“After the discovered violations, the entire leadership and all personnel were transferred to combat units. One hundred percent of the personnel were moved,”

Evtyushenko remarked. He further noted that a complete replacement of the TRC staff occurred in September 2024, with all 44 members, excluding the security platoon, being replaced simultaneously. He indicated that many of the new personnel were either unfit for military service or had already served in combat.

The corruption scandal that erupted in August 2024 involved the detention of leaders from both the Boryspil and Bucha TRCs. These officials were suspected of accepting bribes to facilitate evasion of military conscription.

The Bucha Territorial Recruitment Center underwent a complete personnel overhaul following a corruption scandal involving bribery for military conscription evasion. All previous staff were reassigned to combat roles, leading to a new team being appointed in September 2024.
