On Saturday morning, April 4, Kyiv authorities declared an air raid alert due to the imminent threat of drone attacks. Residents were urged to seek shelter as air defense systems were activated in response to the situation.
At 6:35 AM, officials announced the alert, stating, “An air raid alert has been declared in the capital due to the threat of enemy drones. We urge residents to immediately proceed to the nearest shelters and remain there until the alert is lifted.”
Prior to the alert, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned that Russian strike drones were approaching from the east. Shortly after the alert was issued, residents reported hearing the sounds of air defense systems engaging.
As of 6:43 AM, the air raid alert map indicated that warnings were in effect not only in Kyiv but also in several surrounding regions, including Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk.
