President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met on Thursday, September 26, with a bipartisan delegation of the US Senate to discuss key points of the victory plan, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported.

“This should be our joint achievement – victory for the sake of freedom, without any compromises at the cost of freedom. Here, in the US capital, we have many friends who, since the first days of the full-scale invasion, have stood side by side with Ukrainians in the struggle for freedom and independence. I thank each member of the Senate for such support,” Zelenskyi was quoted as saying by his press service.

After this meeting, the leader of Ukraine arrived at the Capitol for a conversation with US President Joe Biden, the President’s Office told reporters.

It is expected to begin at 1:45 p.m. Washington time (8:45 p.m. Kyiv time). Earlier, Zelensky announced that he would present Biden with a plan to win Ukraine.

At 10 p.m. Kyiv time, Zelenskyi is scheduled to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Earlier, the leader of the majority in the Senate, Democrat Chuck Schumer, announced that he intends to meet with the President of Ukraine on September 26. A meeting was also scheduled with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican, and House Democrat Gregory Meeks, the ranking member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

A meeting with the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, was not scheduled. In a conversation with journalists on the evening of September 25, Johnson himself said this.

The meeting between President Zelenskyi and the presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, will also not take place. Radio Svoboda reported on this on September 24.

A week ago, on September 18, Trump called a meeting with Zelenskyy possible. “Probably so,” Trump said then, answering a journalist’s question about whether he intends to meet with the president of Ukraine.
