According to him, they discussed the situation on the forefront and primary defense needs of Ukraine, work in the format of a coalition of those who want and implementation of agreements of a recent meeting.
“They also spoke in detail about the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, including the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems and the financing of drones-interceptors. We will prepare joint decisions with France and partners at the level of defense ministers and foreign ministers on new steps to protect our people’s lives from Russian blows, ”he wrote in a telegram.
The President of Ukraine also thanked France for a significant contribution to the filling and promotion of a new package of EU sanctions.

Macron, in turn, after a conversation with Zelensky, declared a joint increase in pressure on Russia to ensure an unconditional ceasefire and the beginning of negotiations on a strong and prolonged peace.
“In this regard, I congratulate the adoption this morning with the European Union of a new package of unprecedented sanctions against Russia. Russian attacks should stop immediately. In times of trials and hopes, France is and will remain near Ukraine, ”he wrote on the social network.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro today said Paris played a “key role” in the approval of a new EU sanctions package against the Russian Federation. However, he did not specify how.
Sanctions also include a ban on operations with the Nord Stream gas pipelines and are directed against more ships, which are part of the so -called “shadow fleet” of Russia – vessels, which are believed to bypass EU sanctions, carrying mainly Russian oil.
