– Preparation for the tour took place in the usual working mode. Thanks to the two-week break, the players had the opportunity to heal micro-traumas and injuries, and the coaching staff had time in training to implement their ideas in the preparation of new exercises and schemes.
Serious opponents are waiting for us in this round. The first test for us will be Cherkasy Monkeys. This team made a good run by the end of the first lap. Had real chances to win in the last two games (against “Kyiv-Basket” and “Kharkiv Sokols”), leading in the score and losing only in clutch periods.
The team leaders are Lev Koshevatsky, Kyrylo Marchenko and the American Legionnaires, who are in great shape. In addition, the team is expected to be strengthened by an American legionnaire after the departure of veteran Andrii Agafonov. And it can happen already in this tour.
The second place in the standings speaks of the extremely successful first round of our next opponent – Kharkiv Sokols. They had only one unsuccessful game – against BC Rivne. Kharkiv players are distinguished by a large roster, a long bench, constant rotations and pressing all over the court. They play very tight defense which makes them a very difficult opponent for any team.
In general, I think that most of the teams have already developed new schemes and improved their preparation during the first round of the championship. The second round will be much more difficult, as the teams have already played each other and will analyze their opponents more thoroughly. In addition, many clubs seek to strengthen themselves at the expense of American legionnaires.
We are preparing for a difficult tour, actively analyzing our opponents and trying to improve the interaction of our team both in defense and in attack.
