Ukraine has introduced a new basis for establishing disability – deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression.

This decision allows civilians who have undergone illegal maintenance, torture or other injuries during captivity, to obtain disability status and appropriate social protection.
How is it working?
Persons with a disability obtained as a result of captivity will be able to receive rehabilitation, social benefits and other assistance. This change is an important step in recognizing the consequences of war and supporting the victims.
Earlier, we wrote that the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President’s office, formed proposals for the exchange of “all” in case of negotiations with the Russian Federation.
We will also remind that there are 30 Ukrainian journalists and 30 participants of military orchestras in the Russian captivity. Among the latter are laureates of international competitions, composers, conductors, talented vocalists.
