The agency explained that experts of the Ministry of Defense have prepared a draft law that allows Ukrainians of draft age to register for military service online using electronic identification.
The relevant project of the law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service” regarding the features of the inclusion of citizens of Ukraine in the military registration of conscripts and their medical examination during their basic general training” was approved at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
It is planned to allow conscripts to enter the military register and specify personal data through electronic identification in the “Electronic cabinet of conscripts, conscripts and reservists” service.
In addition, it is planned to eliminate the commissions for such registration and cancel the medical examination during the registration of citizens for military registration.
The document stipulates that citizens who obtain higher education will undergo a medical examination before practical classes of basic general military training.
The provisions regarding the military registration of women who have expressed a desire to undergo basic military service will also be clarified – immediately before being sent to such service, they will be registered for the military registration of conscripts at their request. After completing the basic military service, they will be taken to the military registration of conscripts.
