The counter-intelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an FSB agent in Mykolaiv who was helping to correct missile and drone strikes on the city. He turned out to be a former teacher at a local university. The Security Service of Ukraine informs about this.
The attacker organized an observation post in the attic of a high-rise building, where he installed a hidden video camera. With its help, the agent tried to record the location of Ukrainian air defense systems, combat positions and the movement of weapons of the Defense Forces. Its purpose was to transmit data to circumvent Ukrainian air defense systems.
The SBU documented the attacker’s activities and detained him at his place of residence. During the searches, a mobile phone, a video camera and media containing evidence of his cooperation with the Russian special services were seized.
According to the investigation, the FSB agent was recruited because of the anti-Ukrainian comments he left on Russian Telegram channels. Further communication with the curator was carried out through an intermediary from the occupied part of Donetsk region.
Suspicion was announced to the intruder under part. 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason under martial law). He is currently in custody, facing life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
