– The issue of infrastructure is probably particularly painful now. You play in the DYSSH hall number 1. How difficult was it to bring it to the requirements of the Major League?
– This hall, to put it mildly, does not meet the requirements of the Major League. There are certain standards for the site itself. But when we talked with the leadership of the FBU, I emphasized that we always play for the people. At this moment, in wartime, when there are many negative emotions around people, people need to be given something positive. The federation trusted my authority and allowed us to play in this hall, for which I am very grateful.
At the same time, together with the city management, we decided on a location for the construction of a new sports arena. Now, until wartime, no one will build anything new, we are currently working on documentation. It is possible that the construction of this arena will attract foreign investments, partly private. I hope that when the war is over, in a short period of time we will start the direct process of construction.
– How many people will this arena accommodate?
– It will be a multifunctional arena with a capacity of 1,000-1,500 seats. Since about 100 thousand people live in the city, it is necessary to create suitable conditions for people.
– What is President DiDiBao dreaming about today?
– I really want to build the sports arena that we talked about with you. It would be great for our city. Because if you watch the games, you will see that now we have about 200 spectators. There could be more, people just say that there is nowhere to stand. In Kamianets-Podilskyi, we have a monopoly on basketball – DiDiBao is the only team here. There is also a football Epicenter, but now their stadium is under reconstruction, so they play in Ternopil. And from the point of view of sports results, we would like to see our team in the Super League, and later not only there.
I would also add that we have about 70 children playing at the Academy today and I want them to have a good basketball future.
