President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and First Lady Olena Zelenska took part in events commemorating the victims of the Holodomor-genocide of 1932–1933, as well as the Holodomors of 1921–1923 and 1946–1947.
In the morning, a prayer event was held in the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, at which the memory of the victims of the famine in Ukraine was commemorated.
It was also attended by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, heads of churches and leaders and representatives of religious organizations, heads of bodies and formations of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, military personnel, military chaplains, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora.
After the prayer, the Head of State, the First Lady, representatives of the military-political leadership and the clergy marched to the National Museum of the Holodomor-genocide.
Volodymyr and Olena Zelenski laid spike compositions at the monument “Bitter Memory of Childhood” and paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Holodomor.
After the presidential couple, the memory of the victims of the genocide was commemorated by our soldiers, including Heroes of Ukraine Roman Mamavko and Bohdan Dronov, as well as others present, including representatives of the diplomatic corps.
