The contents of the military aid package are not disclosed in Italy.
It is indicated that the terms of the transfer of military aid will be as short as possible / Photo: UNIAN, Mykhailo PalinchakOn Monday, December 1, the Italian government published an interdepartmental decree, which indicates the transfer of the 12th military aid package to Ukraine, according to the website of the Gazzetta Ufficiale.
The document in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic, which usually informs about the laws in force in the country, states that it is about the free “handover of military means, materials and equipment specified in the secret document developed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Italy to the governmental bodies of Ukraine.”
That is, information on which military equipment will be included in the next military aid package is not provided, because this list is indicated only in a secret reference of the General Staff.
At the same time, it is stated that the description of the weapons will be made only for accounting, and the terms of transfer should be as short as possible.
According to data, Italy has already provided Ukraine with 11 packages of military aid for a total amount of approximately 3 billion euros.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing its own sources, reported that the new package of military aid from Italy may include ammunition and missiles for SAMP/T air defense systems.
Military aid to UkraineEarlier, UNIAN reported that the head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO, Alyona Hetmanchuk, said that Ukraine seeks to receive an additional 1 billion euros for the purchase of American weapons through the PURL program. It allows the US to buy weapons with the money of its European partners. Hetmanchuk noted that this is critically important against the background of increased Russian airstrikes and the winter offensive of the occupying forces.
We also wrote that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine could receive $5 billion in military aid from allies under the PURL support program by the end of this year. According to Rutte, Ukraine receives about $1 billion worth of weapons every month. At the same time, he admitted that for almost 4 years of full-scale war in Ukraine, the own equipment stocks of European countries are decreasing. However, deliveries are still possible.
