The IFCH refused to exclude the Russian Red Cross from its membership: Lubinets says he will contact the donors

“RCH should work only on its territory. This is a violation of the charter of the Federation by the RCH, as well as a violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Federation justified such actions with “innovative approaches” and “humanitarian” goals.”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

The International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) refused to exclude the Russian Red Cross (RCX) from its membership. Ukraine will inform the organization’s donors about this decision, said Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner of the Human Rights Council.

He noted that he “repeatedly told the leadership and representatives of the IFCH about the alleged crimes of the Russian Red Cross and demanded a transparent investigation and exclusion from the Federation.”

According to the ombudsman, “for this, in the spring, the IFCH created the Monitoring Group of the Board, which was supposed to investigate the activities of the Russian Red Cross. All confirmations of Russian crimes were handed over by Lubinets to the president of the IFCH, Kate Forbes. So far, the Federation has published a report on the activities of the Russian Red Cross, where no crimes were “noted”.

In particular, the Federation confirmed Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian territories and confirmed that the Russian Red Cross visited the temporarily occupied territories, Lubinets emphasized.

“RCH should work only on its territory. This is a violation of the statute of the Federation by the RCH, as well as a violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Federation justified such actions with “innovative approaches” and “humanitarian” goals,” the ombudsman pointed out.

Also, according to Lubinets, the report did not mention the fact that “RCH stole the property of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the temporarily occupied Crimea and the participation of the RCH in the deportation of Ukrainian children to the territory of Russia.”

“Despite the fact that the president of the IFCH had all these data, they were not taken into account. The report also states that the Russian Red Cross remains in the IFCH, and the head is in the Federation’s board,” Lubinets added.

Therefore, he decided to “inform all donors who finance the organization. Because they should pay attention to the fact that they give money to the IFCH, which covers Russian crimes. At the same time, Lubinets proposed to redirect all funding to the Ukrainian Red Cross.”

“In my opinion, the IFCH has turned into an advocate of the bloody Russian Red Cross. He who covers a criminal turns into a criminal himself,” he summarized.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, said that three Ukrainian citizens, who were full-time employees of the ICRC, were killed during the Russian shelling of the village of Virolyubivka in Donetsk region. Two more workers were injured.
