The highest court of Romania postponed the decision to cancel the first round of the presidential election

On Friday, November 29, the Constitutional Court of Romania postponed the decision to annul the results of the first round of the presidential elections until next week.

“European Truth” writes about this with reference to Digi24.

The highest Romanian court decided that it will rule on the possible annulment of the results of the first round of the presidential election on Monday, December 2.

The Central Election Commission of Romania previously said that in case of a corresponding decision of the Constitutional Court, the first round of the presidential elections can be repeated.

The decision will be made the day after the other parliamentary elections in Romania, scheduled for Sunday, December 1.

The second round of presidential elections in the country is to be held on December 8.

The day before, the Romanian Constitutional Court had already ordered to count almost 9.5 million votesgiven in the first round of the presidential elections, on the complaint of one of the candidates.

The election was a sensation for Romania and brought victory in the first round to 62-year-old independent candidate Celin Georgescu, who has become known for his anti-Western statements.
