She noted that next year more than UAH 2.2 trillion is planned for security and defense needs, which is even more than the expected actual expenditures this year.
The Ministry of Finance announced the other day that Ukraine spent UAH 1.6 trillion on the security and defense sector in January-October 2024, which is more than half of the general fund of the state budget.
“For the year 2025, we assume the possibility that hostilities will last the whole year in order to be ready for any development of events,” Pidlasa said.

The total resource that will be directed to the security and defense sector will amount to UAH 2.23 trillion. Record funds will be directed to the production and purchase of weapons. UAH 739 billion have been earmarked for this. There will be more funding for the modernization of the defense-industrial complex, as well as for the purchase of drones.
