Details

It is noted that the Brazilian became the oldest person in the world after the death of the British John Tinniswood from Great Britain at the age of 112. The man’s record age was confirmed by the LongeviQuest gerontological group.

For reference

João Neto was born on October 5, 1912 in Marangup (Brazil) in the family of a farmer. As a boy, he helped his father, in particular, he collected fruit from trees and took care of cattle.

Subsequently, the Brazilian married Josefa Albano – four children were born in this marriage.

After inheriting his father’s land, Joao Neto continued to farm the plots and raise cattle, goats, pigs and chickens.

The Guinness Book of World Records says that during his lifetime, the Brazilian faced many difficulties and survived several severe droughts that affected his region over the years.

“But he worked hard to build a financially stable life, accumulating many assets such as land and houses,” it added.

Later, three more children were born to Joao Neto in another marriage. Currently, the husband has six children, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

We will remind

Maria Branias Morera, a Spanish woman who was believed to be the oldest person in the world, died at the age of 117. After her death, 116-year-old Japanese woman Tomiko Itooka became the oldest living person.
