On September 27, a court session was held in the case of Khrystyna Solova. The Illichiv court did not find the composition of the crime in the obscene swearing of the singer at the festival in Chornomorsk on July 26.
“The Illich court acquitted me, that there is no crime in the fact that Illich is a h…inya,” the singer said.
She was charged with petty hooliganism and “obscene swearing in public places, insulting citizens and other similar actions that disturb public order and peace of citizens.”
At the court session, Solovya stated that she came to the hearing “not so much to defend her honor as to defend the honor of our state, the independence of which was restored in 1991 after 70 years of the criminal regime established by the criminal Ilyich Lenin.”
“Those who filed a lawsuit against me are trying to glorify communist ideology. Ilyich Lenin was the leader of the communist regime, which is recognized as a criminal under Ukrainian law. The name of Ilyich for the whole world is a permanent symbol and propaganda of communist terror, the heir of which modern Russia, which has been waging a genocidal war against us for 10 years, proudly considers itself the heir,” said the artist.
She emphasized that she did not express disrespect to the residents of the city, as it was stated in the administrative protocol.
“On July 26, 2024, at the festival in Chornomorsk, I performed a Ukrainian folk song about a girl’s love for a Cossack. The song “Chornomorets”, which I dedicated to the residents of the city of Chornomorsk, which on my part is a manifestation of solidarity and respect for the residents. Consolidation of opinion regarding the community’s wise decision with the choice of a new name for the city,” added Solovyi.
The decision of the Illichiv court emphasizes that the proceedings cannot be initiated, but instead must be closed due to the absence of an event and the composition of an administrative offense.
Judge Yury Tyumin clarified that Solovya could not foresee that she could be prosecuted for one obscene word spoken from the stage regarding the former communist name of the city, “because in modern society, cases of chanting of an obscene verse about the country’s president in the stadium are admired and actively circulated by the media – the aggressor, and the obscene saying about the enemy ship acquired the significance of a national motto.”
The ruling can be appealed to the Odessa Court of Appeal within ten days from the day it was issued.
We will remind you that on July 26, the singer became one of the participants of the Vydelkafest festival. Talking to the audience, the actress asked if they liked the old name, and then commented on the former name “Illichivsk is full of shit”.
The incident was caught on video, and in social networks some users criticized Solova for her rude language. At the same time, others thanked the artist for drawing attention to the importance of decommunization.
