The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Sukhomlin as the new head of the State Recovery Agency

The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Serhiy Sukhomlyn as the new head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, said in a telegram.

Last week, the city council of Zhytomyr prematurely terminated Sukhomlyn’s powers as mayor.

He has been the mayor of Zhytomyr since November 2015.

The position of the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine has been vacant since June of this year, when the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Mustafa Nayem.

Before that, on June 10, he wrote a statement to resign from the position of the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction, stating “systemic obstacles that do not provide further opportunities to effectively carry out the mandate.”
