A British man who set fire to London commercial real estate linked to Ukraine has admitted that he received money from foreign intelligence.

22-year-old Jake Reeves pleaded guilty at London’s Woolwich Crown Court to a charge of arson in March, Reuters and the British Guardian newspaper write.

However, Reeves denied charges under the law of participating in the preparation of acts involving serious violence and endangering life.

Another man, 20-year-old Dylan Earle, also pleaded guilty to arson last month. He pleaded guilty to a preparatory act under the National Security Act, which was introduced last year to combat hostile foreign activity.

When the men were charged, British prosecutors said Earle was acting for Russia. The prosecutor did not provide any details about the case against Reeves.

A British national has previously been charged with organizing arson attacks in London businesses after allegedly being recruited by Russia.
