The total expenditures of the state budget for 2025 amount to UAH 3.94 trillion, of which UAH 11.3 billion have been allocated to culture and strategic communications, in particular UAH 10.5 billion — from the general fund of the state budget.
This is reported on the ICSK website.
On November 28, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2025. As the Ministry of Culture emphasized, culture and strategic communications remain important for the state, because UAH 11.3 billion has been allocated to them in the state budget, of which UAH 10.5 billion is from the general fund of the state budget.
“In general, the financing of the sphere of culture and state media increased by 7%,” the MKSK clarified.
Public Broadcasting will receive the most funding — over UAH 2 billion, which, as the ministry notes, “will make it possible to strengthen media independence, develop a regional network and ensure freedom of speech.”
Other main areas of support for culture and strategic communications in the budget:
UAH 250 million is earmarked for the Ukrainian Cultural Fund (UKF) to support cultural and creative industries, which is 15% more than in 2024.
UAH 278.6 million will be allocated to the Ukrainian Institute of Books for the promotion of Ukrainian literature and support of book publishing, in particular for the implementation of the E-book project.
Strategic communications and information security will receive UAH 405 million, which will be directed to support national information stability, as well as European integration processes.
“It is important that the need for the protection of nature reserves and museums under the Ministry’s management is fully met. In addition, in 2025, financing in the amount of UAH 70 million is planned for the construction of a shelter in the reserve for the safety of visitors,” noted the MKSK.
The continuation of the program of support for institutions that are under the jurisdiction of the ICSK regarding restoration, capital repairs and preservation of immovable heritage is also foreseen.
