Source: LNZ plans to sign Rukh’s scorer in the winter

Forward of Lviv “Rukh” Babukarr Faal may transfer to LNZ during the winter break. The Cherkasy club plans to arrange a lease or transfer of the attacker in the coming weeks.

In the current season, the 22-year-old Gambian attacking player has scored 5 goals in 13 matches. In total, Faal scored 10 goals and provided 1 assist in 28 matches for the Rukh, which he joined in February 2025.

The peculiarity of the potential transfer lies in the fact that Faal first played in Ukraine under the leadership of Vitaly Ponomarev, the current LNZ coach. If the deal takes place, Babukarr will become the fifth ex-player of “Rukh” who ended up in the Cherkasy club for Ponomarev. Goalkeeper Dmytro Ledviy, defenders Roman Didyk, Oleg Horin and midfielder Artur Ryabov have previously overcome this path.

By the start of the 14th round, LNZ is in second place in the UPL table. Faal is expected to be a potential replacement for Prosper Oba, who has been heavily linked with a move to Shakhtar.
