Details: According to Ivan, Romania “must take control” of Petrotel Lukoil – the Romanian company “Lukoil” in order to “guarantee the full implementation of international measures, protect the jobs of 5,000 employees and ensure the stability and security of the national energy system.”

“Lukoil” has been trying to sell the Petrotel refinery for almost ten years, but so far without success. It provides processing of about 2.4 million tons of oil per year.
Bulgaria is also preparing to take control of the refinery, belonging to “Lukoil” in order to sell it to a new owner and remove this strategic object from sanctions, and also strengthens its protection.
