Serhiy Nikiforov, press secretary of the President of Ukraine, said that the United States constructively accepted Ukraine’s victory plan presented by Volodymyr Zelenskyi and will work with it.
“The Western mass media chose different epithets: they received it coldly, they accepted it without enthusiasm, they accepted this victory plan with skepticism. This is all untrue, he was accepted with great interest, he was accepted constructively, he was accepted into the work,” Nikiforov said on the evening of September 28 on the air of the One News telethon.
Zelenskyi’s press secretary added that US President Joseph Biden announced that on October 12, at the meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format, “he will return with some decisions and answers.”
Nikiforov noted that this is an “encouraging start.”
Commenting on the issue of allowing Ukraine to use long-range Western weapons on Russian territory, Zelenskyi’s press secretary said that “the Russians themselves will be the first to learn about the permission to strike deep into Russian territory,” and the official announcement will be made after that.
At the same time, Nikiforov noted that there is still no decision on the use of long-range weapons, although Zelenskyi has held negotiations with everyone on whom it depends, in particular, with Italy, France, Great Britain and the United States.
“And although there is still no unequivocal permission, there is a huge pressure on partners from the outside,” noted the press secretary of the President of Ukraine.
He also said that at the meeting in the Ramstein format, the Ukrainian side would like to hear about the arrival of weapons from the previously announced support packages.
