On the night of December 2, the Moldovan authorities temporarily suspended the work of the Giurgiulesti-Reni border crossing due to an attack by Russian drones on the Bolgrad district of the Odesa region, which borders Moldova.

All sectors of the border police in the south of the Republic of Moldova were immediately put on alert last night after the Air Operations Service of the Ministry of Defense reported that radars had detected drones on the territory of Ukraine, moving from Reni towards Bolgrad.

The border police of the Republic of Moldova received a message from the Ukrainian authorities that the city of Bolgrad is being attacked by Shahed drones.

Around two o’clock in the morning, the air alert on the territory of Ukraine was canceled, at the same time the activity of the Giurgiulesti – Reni border crossing was resumed.

As of the morning of December 2, the Air Force of Ukraine reported more than 60 drones, of which 39 were destroyed. The Russian military attacked Odesa region, hitting energy targets. No casualties have been reported.
