Duck’s direct speech: “We clearly saw that the evaluation of the actions of the Ukrainian authorities in response to this crisis by the Western partners is positive.”
Details: The Deputy Prime Minister separately said that only Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, against the background of the corruption scandal, called not to support Ukraine.
“As for the reaction of Western politicians, we rather heard an objective assessment that the government is reacting in the right way quickly, clearly and unequivocally clearing its ranks, that anti-corruption institutions are working,” Kachka said.
“This is exactly what was emphasized in the European Commission’s report on enlargement, in previous work reports and documents, as well as the priorities in the negotiation process. Therefore, the negotiation process itself will not be affected by this scandal,” he added.
Earlier, it was reported that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine published an investigation into a major corruption scheme at Energoatom NAEC under the name Midas.
The organizer of the scheme was businessman, co-owner of Kvartal-95 and former partner of President Zelensky, Timur Mindych. The prosecution noted that Mindich exerted influence on the former Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko and the former Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov.
The European Commission believes that the disclosure of the corruption scheme is evidence of the effectiveness of the anti-corruption bodies of Ukraine.
