Alcaraz secured the first step of the rankings after the results of the season after securing three victories in the group stage of the 2025 ATP Finals Tournament.
Carlos became the 11th tennis player in history who managed to finish the season on the first step of the ranking more than once (2022, 2025).
22-year-old Alcaraz is the second youngest player to achieve this feat. Only Lleyton Hewitt, who did it at the age of 21, was younger than him.
Only Yannick Sinner could beat Carlos according to the results of the ATP Finals – for this, Carlos had to lose to Lorenzo Musetti in the third round of the group, and then lose to Yannick himself in the semifinals, who also had to defend the trophy.
