Since the beginning of the epidemiological season in Ukraine, the risk of influenza has increased significantly. It is known that strains A/Missouri/11/2025 (H1N1), A/Singapore/GP20238/2024 (H3N2) and B/Austria/1359417/2021 await Ukrainians this year. It is important to note that there are currently no vaccines in Ukraine that could protect the population. The Ministry of Health said it is only responsible for mandatory vaccinations, while flu vaccines are voluntary.

Vaccine stocks that were previously available in pharmacies have already run out. So far, only 100,667 French-made doses have been registered that have passed quality control, and 136,000 doses from South Korea have already gone on sale. The head of the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention claims that the demand for vaccines has decreased, and half as many doses have been imported this year as last year, as the lack of vaccination has led to the disposal of large volumes of unused stocks.
The situation is complicated by the approaching flu outbreak at the end of December. Doctors advise not to delay vaccination if symptoms of the disease occur, such as fever, headache, cough. It is important to follow preventive measures to avoid infection, including wearing masks in public places. Questions about the possibility of stable availability of vaccines in the near future remain open.
