According to the case materials, the suspect was a 21-year-old immigrant from the Vinnytsia region who was looking for quick earnings. In the Telegram messenger, a representative of the special services of the Russian Federation appeared on him and offered money in exchange for cooperation.
At the behest of the Russian customers, within one day, the young man set fire to an official SUV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a car of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine.
Expecting to receive a monetary reward, the suspect recorded the fire on his phone’s camera and sent a video report to the Russian curator.
However, the customer from Russia refused to pay and promised to settle after performing several more fires.
The law enforcement officers arrested the perpetrator “red handed” as soon as he set the third car on fire. At the scene, incendiary devices and a mobile phone with evidence of correspondence with Russian customers were seized from him.
