Direct speech of Tvalavadze: “On November 28, 2024, the government of Georgia deliberately abandoned the European path, openly declaring that it no longer follows the historical aspiration of our people to integrate Georgia into the European Union. With this decision, the Georgian Dream party betrayed our Constitution – Article 78 of our Constitution states that integration into of Euro-Atlantic institutions is a key goal of our foreign policy.”
Details: In the evening of November 29, a large protest gathered under the walls of the parliament in Tbilisi, clashes with the police began. As a result, the protesters were violently dispersed with the use of water cannons and tear gas. During the crackdown, security forces beat journalists and their equipment.
“My request to all of you is the following – spread the information about the events taking place in Georgia to the capitals of Europe and America,” writes Tvalavadze, addressing his friends abroad.

- Earlier, employees of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia issued a statement in which they emphasized the importance of the country’s cooperation with European and Euro-Atlantic structures, and also recognized the contribution of Western partners to the development of Georgia’s defense capabilities and deterrent capabilities. According to a published statement signed by 41 employees, they remain faithful to their obligations under Article 78 of the Constitution.
