Already next year, all men aged 18 to 25 must undergo mandatory basic military training. This was stated by the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ivan Tymochko, on the Kyiv24 TV channel.

Citizens aged 18 to 25 must be given basic and professional training. That is, what will actually start from January 1, when, first of all, students, and then the entire male population from 18 to 25 years of age, will undergo basic and professional training,” Tymochko said.

At the same time, he emphasized that this is not mobilization, but “basic training for everyone.”

This is the training of people who will have basic and professional skills in handling weapons, choosing a specialty. That is, they will know what the army lives and breathes, in order to remove many fears, and at the same time, to have a prepared population. This is the right approach,” said the representative of the Ground Forces.

In October, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said that in December he would make a decision on the new model of basic combined military training (BZVP).

In June, the permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, announced that basic military training for students and police officers had been introduced in Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers established that men and women will undergo basic military training (upon request), who are studying full-time or dual education.
