“Lithuania will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones. The relevant Memorandum was signed today in Vilnius with my friend, Minister of Defense Laurinas Kaschyunas,” the minister said.
In his words, “the memorandum of understanding on the creation of a mechanism to support the security and defense forces of Ukraine through contributions to the Ukrainian defense industry opens up new opportunities for Lithuanian investments in our defense industry and contributes to the expansion of strategic partnership between our countries.”
This is a long-term agreement, within the framework of which the first tranche of 10 million euros has already been agreed. Lithuania directs these funds to the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons, in particular the “Palyanytsia” project. The Lithuanian side is already working on finalizing bureaucratic procedures, the first tranche to support Ukrainian DeepStrike will be transferred in the near future
The minister indicated that in addition to signing the memorandum, we discussed our key priorities for 2025: training and equipping Ukrainian brigades, providing ammunition, air defense equipment, and developing cooperation in the defense industry.

The first successful combat use of a new Ukrainian weapon – the long-range missile-drone “Palyanytsia” – took place on August 24. The Ukrainian long-range rocket-drone “Palyanytsia” costs less than 1 million dollars, said the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
In September, it became known that Lithuania allocated 10 million euros for the purchase of the Ukrainian missile-drone “Palyanytsia”.
In October, Ukraine offered Lithuania a financing mechanism for the production of the Palanytsia drone missile, according to which Lithuania will invest 10 million euros according to the “Danish model”.
