The number of people killed as a result of Russia’s attack on Sumy on September 28 has increased to 10 people, the regional military administration reported.

“22 people were injured of varying degrees of severity. 15 people were hospitalized, five of whom are in serious condition. Seven victims are receiving outpatient treatment,” the department specified.

It is also known that “all patients of the hospital damaged by the enemy have been evacuated to other health care facilities. The victims were provided with the necessary assistance and provided with appropriate conditions of stay, taking into account injuries and diagnoses.”

In addition, OVA thanked the rescuers, police, international partners and public organizations for their help in evacuating patients and liquidating the consequences.

On the morning of September 28, Russia struck a hospital in Sumy twice. Previously, it was known about 9 dead and 12 wounded.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, initially reported six dead, including one policeman. According to him, after the first strike, the hospital was evacuated, rescuers and police officers arrived, then the Russian military struck a second time.

The Ministry of Health reported that two medical workers were among the injured: a doctor and a nurse who were in the reception department.

“The reception department of the hospital was destroyed, one of the floors and the roof of the building were partially destroyed,” the Ministry of Health said.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
