Shakhtar head coach Arda Turan reacted to the resignation of Dynamo coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi.
– You won a great victory, but there is hot news in Ukrainian football. Now the situation in “Dynamo” (Kyiv) is worrying, they fired their coach after the defeat in the Conference League. I understand that this is not related to your game, but “Dynamo” is the main rival of “Shakhtar” in Ukraine. How can this affect Shakhtar?
– I can only say the following about this news. Shovkovskyi is a coach whom I envied from the moment I arrived here. He is a champion and has increased the competition and motivation for us in our league. Although we worked only for five or six months, I am glad to be his rival. I respect him a lot. If we don’t meet him as rivals now, I wish him success in his future career. That’s all I can say about it because we want to focus more on our team and organization. But Shovkovskyi is a great coach for whom we have great respect.
