Access to Polymarket has been restricted for French users, the prediction platform site is in “view only” mode. This was reported by The Big Whale journalist Gregory Raymond.

Comme nous le révélions il ya 2 semaines, @Polymarket no longer accessible depuis la France 🇫🇷
On ne peut plus placer de paris

The ban comes two weeks after the French National Gaming Authority (ANJ) launched an investigation.
The regulator’s attention was drawn to a local trader under the nickname Theo4, who bet more than $30 million on the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential elections. According to Polymarket, its net profit was about $19 million.
At the time of writing, no official statement has been received from the betting platform or ANJ.
Raymond noted that he managed to place a bet on Polymarket despite the restriction:
“We can no longer make bets. [Влада] is wishful thinking as I was able to host it via VPN.”
In the months leading up to the US presidential election, activity on the platform increased dramatically. In total, players from around the world bet more than $3.2 billion on this event.
According to Dune Analytics, after Trump’s victory, volumes on Polymarket dropped sharply — from a record $371 million on November 5 to the current $54 million.

We will remind, on November 13, FBI agents searched the apartment of Polymarket CEO Shane Koplan in Manhattan (USA). The media reported that the authorities seized the phone and other electronics.
